How to Clean Toddler Bedding Sheets?

Your kids will feel good sleeping on a bed with their favorite cartoon characters printed on their bed sheets. And they will feel even better and nicer if they will sleep on a freshly washed bed sheet.

Nothing is more comfortable than sleeping on a bed sheet that smells and feels clean. If you can smell the freshness of sun dried bed sheets, you will instantly feel sleepy and will soon travel in snooze land.

When cleaning your toddler bedding sheets, it is important that you know how to properly do it. Here are some guidelines for cleaning toddler bedding sheets.

  • The first thing is to remove the bed sheets from the bed. Make sure that you shake them to remove all the dust and dirt. This is important before getting them wet. Try to remove as much dirt and dust as you can before washing.

  • Sort the toddler bed sheets by color. You should have one pile for dark colored sheets, one pile for light colored sheets, and one last pile for white sheets. It is important to sort out the sheets by color to prevent discoloration. You should also wash them separately.

  • Before washing, it is important to read the labels first especially if the bed sheets are made of different materials. Materials have different acre instructions. For instance, silk bed sheets should not be washed like cotton bed sheets because they are more lightweight and sensitive. Things like these are important to prevent damaging your bed sheets.

  • Once you have read the care instructions in the label, you can now wash your bed sheets. Do not use very strong detergents or cleaners because they can cause breathing problems especially for your little one. Choose something mild which is safe for a small child. If you want to make your white bed sheets whiter, you can use natural whitening solutions like mixing water with vinegar or lemon juice instead of bleaching chemicals which can damage the bed sheets and which can be dangerous for your child.

  • In winter or rainy season, it is okay to tumble dry your bed sheets in low settings. But if the sun is hot outside and the wind is blowing gently, you should hang the bed sheets outside and let it sun-and air-dry. Letting the sheets dry under the sun is fresher than tumble drying.
